Read MoreSocial Spots - the concept behind:
Social Spots is a project aiming to replace social distance with physical distance following the slogan
“Social Caring whilst Physical Distancing” – because social interaction and spatial distance are not contradictory.
Social Spots is a tool designed to re-introduce social interaction to public open spaces in times of post-Corona-lockdown.
Through our Social Spots project we want to demonstrate that safe social interaction can take place in public space and that physical distance can be a connecting rather than a separating element. Social Spots invite interaction between friends, as well as strangers.
Its simple design ensures that a safety distance of 2 meters between everybody participating can be easily observed. The traingular pattern provides distance between all users and at the same time symbolises a linking network.
The Social Spots concept is freely available for everyone, for non-commercial use.
It would be great if you are to create Social Spots in your hometown, make sure to tag @social_spots_ in your photos and use the hashtag #socialspots
For commercial use please contact us via the contact form beneath, we are open to new collaborations.
Social Spots could only be launched in cooperation and with friendly support of geht-doch Wien – the Viennese association for walkability and public space.
