Taking the ferry in Amsterdam is part of their public transport system! Wearing masks was just introduced at the beginning of June 2020 to some parts of everyday life in the Netherlands and other measures like this grit pattern are aiming to keep people at physical distance to each other while waiting to bord the ferry. Seems like Social Spots could have added a bit more playfulness and an improved social factor to this concept.
